Dear Friends of HELP of Door County,

The Board of Directors of HELP of Door County wanted to share with you that our Executive Director, Steve Vickman, has decided to retire effective 12/31/2019. Our Board is thankful for Steve’s service and leadership and know that while it will be difficult to replace Steve’s unique skill set, we understand and support his decision to retire at this time. We are very grateful for his many accomplishments and initiatives launched during his tenure and wish him and his family the very best. We have the utmost confidence that our search committee will be able to find a qualified replacement who will continue Steve’s work and lead the organization to even greater success in the future!

Please know that our top priority is to maintain the high quality of trauma informed services to victims of domestic violence in Door County. We have seen an increase in the number of clients served of 107% since 2016 and we are committed to insuring that HELP of Door County will always be that “soft place to land” for victims fleeing violent situations. We are so very proud of our incredibly dedicated staff and the transformation, growth and changes that they have been enacted over the past few years. We believe that we are well positioned for the future to meet the changing and diverse needs of those we serve.

HELP’s Board of Directors has already begun the search for Steve’s successor and hopes to complete a successful transition before the end of the year. It is our goal to keep you updated as to the progress of the search and transition. We are incredibly grateful for your generous support of our good work and we want to assure you that this work will continue on. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or suggestions you may have.

With best wishes!

Jean Severson
